I am a Researcher in Visual Culture and Fine Artist and hold a Doctorate from the University of Ulster on the practice of 20th Century artist Joseph Beuys. I have published and co-edited a number of texts on the artist’s work and am currently researching the artist's interest in the notion of Eurasia. I am a member of the International Society for Ethnology and Folklore (SIEF), and my research interests include Beuys, theories of language, the relationship between art and anthropology and art and ecology. My installation practice relates to narratives of home, protection and the state of exception. International research group I am particularly linked with include the SIEF Place Wisdom Working Group, the LAND2 network, and Mapping Spectral Traces.
