Culture, Politics and the Arts

This cluster examines how the arts seek to document, interpret, influence and reflect upon society. Research addresses, for example, the social and political purposes of performance, or ways in which popular culture, media, music and internet texts - in a variety of local, national, international and transnational contexts - contribute to shaping specific forms and genres, social and personal identities, as well as cultural policy.
